"You have to fall in love with the process to become great"-Unknown
This week I had my section 2 and 3 revised by the man Dr Mangini himself. That really helped my writing process and my work. I produced a much better essay because I was so blind to these things. Help can come from anyone, always view the cristism has constrctive because if you dont your feelings will be hurt. But the truth hurts but it does help in many ways. We did this in ALP and i thought making a post out of it might help out you guys with your process's. So check out my shitty first drafts because we all have them. Enjoy!

This post has to do with my introduction, The idea was to start off with a little scene to warm up the audience, to grab their attention. But this is a scene from my three good things project, with the great day my brother and I had. So If this scene is good enough and fits my introduction then you could possibly see this in there.
It’s a Saturday morning, 8.45 am to be exact, I wake up to the smell of coffee and breakfast. The sizzling bacon makes me feel a sort of calmness knowing that it's alright I’m in a great place right now. I walk on downstairs to wake up nick so we can get on to 2k for the event, the night before we planned on waking up and getting on this. So he wakes up and says “Thanks just give me a minute to fully wake up” I then reply”Alright I'll set it up for you” Back down Nick goes, I walk back up stairs to eat some breakfast and get on the game. My mom knew I had a rough week so I think she did that out of niceness. I really appreciate her for that and it makes me feel loved in many ways. I thought to myself, I'm going to put this as one of my three good things today in my journal. So now Nick and I are on the game, I join his party and we get into the playground. The event is the “Reese's Park event” it is double xp and VC. So we get into the first game and we won, we went on a 9 game win streak. Then at 10 the event ended, Nick mentioned something about the sixers playing at 1 today against the pistons. I said Lets go to the game it's the first time since Embiid and drummond played since drummond tried talking all that shit from last game. Nick says” Yeah I'm down to go let's ask dad to email us the tixs.” So we have season tixs and have had them since 2012, Well I got my dad to email us the tixs and we are getting ready to go to the game. I ask Nick if we wanted to get chickfila before the game. I never seen someone's face light up more than his. So we leave chick fil a, Nick is on the aux playing straight hits. So the 40 minute drive felt like 10 minutes. Its 12:30 and we are pulling into the phillies parking lot because this sold out crowd already filled up the 76ers lot. So we got a pretty good walk in this blistering cold, 40 degrees. It hasn't been this cold all year, as I blow into my hands to warm them up. Nick asks “ do you think Embiid is going cook drummond after shit talked Embiid after last game?” I reply “ I bet he goes for 40 on him.” So at this point we are in line to get into the stadium. We get our tixs checked and entered the game, we take the escalator up to the second level. Our seats are halfcourt, row 1, seat 7, and 8. It's gametime, the announcer calls out the names and the crowd is going wild, trust the process chants are being shouted all throughout the arena. Embiid first play of the game bullies drummond and the dunks it home as everyone ooo’s and ahh’s. Fast forward to halftime and Embiid has 32! Sixers are flat out dominating the pistons today. Halftime is over and the game is going. Markelle Fultz drove the lane and rose up to put drummond on a poster but missed because he got fouled by drummond on the play. Man was the crowd jumping after that play. Now the 4th quarter hits and man this is a great game, I look over nick and say “ Embiid has 34 he could get 40 like I said.” He replies “ I think he might get 50 let alone 40” We both laughed and our eyes got glued back to court as the athletes run up and down the court trying to put the ball into the hoop. The game has ended, Nick and I walk back we talk about how Wmbiid only had 39, What's in store for our sixers, also if Brett brown is the right fit for this team. So we get in the car and drive off from a fantastic game and a great day we have had. In this blog post I will be doing some research on positive psychology for my research project. I will be using plenty of sources so seek them throughout the context of the post. During all this I've learned so much and I'm really appreciating that I get to take in all this information to help out my life in endless ways. Now lets hop into the research of it all, I hope you enjoy this wonderful process.
So first of all lets define positive psychology and what it exactly means. The information I gathered from What is Positive Psychology & Why Is it Important? (Positive Psychology Program) taught me that positive psychology is focus on your day to day well being but there are three categories are your Positive experiences, positive states and traits, positive institutions. But your probably wondering about who was the founder this subject, that is the famous Penn psychologist Dr. Martin Segilman. He also created the three good things project which I did in blog post 10. A big thing that teaches is gratitude. What best represents gratitude in my opinion is “the appreciation of what is valuable and meaningful to oneself and represents a general state of thankfulness and/or appreciation” (Sansone & Sansone, 2010). I pulled this quote from What is Positive Psychology & Why Is it Important? (Positive Psychology Program). But another thing that branches off the both of them which is very important is Well being. There are many different meanings to well being but my personal one is The state of mindfulness, appreciation and awareness of all the things that are going on in your life. But according to Psychology Today, happiness, vitality, calmness,optimism,involvement,self-awareness, self-acceptance,self-worth,competence,development,purpose, significance, congruence, and connection. In the midst of all this research it is helping me be more aware of these things, but also becoming better at this whole gathering information and finding ways to better my writing. Positive psychology has been being researched since the 1960s but the reason they have started to do research on it was because Dr. Segilman was tired of psychology focusing on the negatives in life, according to Positive psychology program. Which I find interesting because that means we have only scratched the surface on fully discovering all the information to this positive psychology research. I will definitely stay up to date with this info to better myself for the future. But lets take a look into Mindfulness and talk about that because that is very important to the work of positive psychology. "Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us." - Mindfullness.org. Mindfulness plays a big part in that three good things project, at least I got that take away from that project. That is the recent research I have completed but not nearly close to where I want to be with all my research. |
