"You have to fall in love with the process to become great"-Unknown
In this blog post I will be doing some research on positive psychology for my research project. I will be using plenty of sources so seek them throughout the context of the post. During all this I've learned so much and I'm really appreciating that I get to take in all this information to help out my life in endless ways. Now lets hop into the research of it all, I hope you enjoy this wonderful process.
So first of all lets define positive psychology and what it exactly means. The information I gathered from What is Positive Psychology & Why Is it Important? (Positive Psychology Program) taught me that positive psychology is focus on your day to day well being but there are three categories are your Positive experiences, positive states and traits, positive institutions. But your probably wondering about who was the founder this subject, that is the famous Penn psychologist Dr. Martin Segilman. He also created the three good things project which I did in blog post 10. A big thing that teaches is gratitude. What best represents gratitude in my opinion is “the appreciation of what is valuable and meaningful to oneself and represents a general state of thankfulness and/or appreciation” (Sansone & Sansone, 2010). I pulled this quote from What is Positive Psychology & Why Is it Important? (Positive Psychology Program). But another thing that branches off the both of them which is very important is Well being. There are many different meanings to well being but my personal one is The state of mindfulness, appreciation and awareness of all the things that are going on in your life. But according to Psychology Today, happiness, vitality, calmness,optimism,involvement,self-awareness, self-acceptance,self-worth,competence,development,purpose, significance, congruence, and connection. In the midst of all this research it is helping me be more aware of these things, but also becoming better at this whole gathering information and finding ways to better my writing. Positive psychology has been being researched since the 1960s but the reason they have started to do research on it was because Dr. Segilman was tired of psychology focusing on the negatives in life, according to Positive psychology program. Which I find interesting because that means we have only scratched the surface on fully discovering all the information to this positive psychology research. I will definitely stay up to date with this info to better myself for the future. But lets take a look into Mindfulness and talk about that because that is very important to the work of positive psychology. "Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us." - Mindfullness.org. Mindfulness plays a big part in that three good things project, at least I got that take away from that project. That is the recent research I have completed but not nearly close to where I want to be with all my research.

Really decent outlook on the research and how it changed how you look at your days. Great use of annotation too! Now I kinda feel like mine is a little empty.
