"You have to fall in love with the process to become great"-Unknown
In this blog post I will be doing this via Vlog from youtube. I will be going over my second draft of my narrative project. In it I will answer a few questions but here are a few readings that helped me answer them: What is Fan Fiction -- and why is it making people nervous? (Stephen Downes), a link to Rewinding and Rewriting: The Alternate Universes in Our Head (Hidden Brain Podcast). Now lets get into the video. Enjoy!

In this blog post I have produced something abnormal compared to my other post. I think everyone is going to enjoy this unique approach. Please give me your feedback on ways I can improve this though.Enjoy! In this post I will be sharing a poem I constructed from my narrative project. I took out words and phrases from my narrative
project to make this poem. What is a Found Poem? | Sample Found Poem | Visual Examples of Found Poems these readings helped create my poem in the best way I can. I hope you all can enjoy this reading as much as I had making it. Change Is Now Here comes the referee shaking, holding the glowing orange ball, Something doesn’t feel right, like I have a string on it, It has landed in my hands, All these goosebumps flow down my body. Uh-oh, I felt this sharp pain in my knee. I see everyone staring at me, lying on this cold but dusty hardwood floor. I sit here in despair, heartbroken, This is tearing me apart… I felt helpless, the nerves are a little shaky. I felt so detached like someone just took away my sense of being. I might never be the same again. Section II: Do you think the narrative provides enough descriptive language to create a compelling found poem?~ I personally do believe my narrative uses enough descriptive language to where the audience understands me. Do you think the descriptive language more so creates a setting or delivers the subtext of a theme?~ I think it creates a little bit of both but you have to dive deep to fully understand. In this blog post I will be revising my blog post 5. With the help of My Mother Gives me a Writing Lesson (Martin Lee), I was able to use a few tips from it and revise my post. I hope the changes were for the best. Enjoy!
The tip is off we won and I end up with the ball, the ball is so soft and cushiony but it feels like I have a string on it the way I'm handling it. So I come off the screen and pull up. Shoot. Swishh goes the net the crowd on its feet. I've been waiting for this moment for the longest time. Fast forward to the second quarter we hold the lead 17-14. Down the court we come I pass it to the center and he shoots. Clank! Off the rim it goes the other team is leaking out I'm getting back they shoot a three and miss I go up for the rebound and down I come. POP! Uh-oh I felt this sharp pain and I'm lying here on this cold dusty hardwood court. This pain is unlike no other I'm slamming the floor hoping for it to stop but that's not going to happen. I scope out the scene and I see everyone staring at me but the game is still going on then I see my mom. She is so worried and runs out on the court with my Dad and then they stop the game and help me up. I keep thinking to myself why? Why? Why did I play? Why didn't I just sit out for this pointless game? We walk over to the sideline the grab me a bag of ice and I just sit here watching my team go on without me. Im furious but sad, confused but angry at myself. It all started on a Saturday in March. Its game day and the nerves are going, my stomach is full of butterflies. But this isn't no ordinary game this is the championship. Me and my brother nick play for the same team in this rec league and we pull up to the gym calm and confident we are ready for whatever comes our way, or at least we think that. The gym smells like fresh wax with a sweaty aroma in the air. I scout out the gym the other team has only lost once all season and today we have to do something we haven't done all season, beat them twice.I hurt my knee the week before pretty bad. It was very weak it felt like my leg would give out all week and right now I'm contemplating on playing. But I can't let down my brother and the rest of the team so I am going to play. That decision unfortunately ended changing my life in a way I never imagined. The changes I made were pretty drastic. I tried out a new form writing called in media res. Its when you open up the story straight to the climax of the scene, I found it very helpful in my story to attract the readers attention from the get go. This blog post I will recreate a past scene of my life that has had a big affect on my life today in a negative way. Here are a few readings that have helped me construct this blog, What You Don't Know (Lulu Wang) and My Name is Margaret. Now I will show you this brief but very vital moment in my life.

Tip off is in 5 minutes and I'm putting on biofreeze to help my knee feel better. But anyways Its game time and i'm ready for the action we take the court. I see some friends but for the next 4 quarters they are the enemies. The tip is off we won and I end up with the ball, the ball is so soft and cushiony but it feels like I have a string on it the way I'm handling it. So I come off the screen and pull up. Shoot. I'm furious but sad, confused but angry at myself. First game ends and we win I get up to motivate my team but I can no longer walk on my left leg. So I sit here talk to nick telling him “Lets go bro go out there and get this dub we didn't come all this way to lose” Nick replies, “Bet.” I trust him to help us come out on top. But we ended up winning the second game which means we have won the championship! I was so proud of them but the bad news is I tore my ACL, Meniscus, and fractured my tibia spine bone… I will need surgery and it takes 8-10 months to recover. |
